Returns & Refunds Policy

At Kline Collective, we take immense pride in presenting hand-painted, made-to-order artwork created with passion and precision. Every piece is part of a refined, curated experience, and while we strive for complete satisfaction, we understand that occasionally, returns or changes may be necessary.
How do I Initiate a Return or Exchange?
We offer a 30-day return or exchange window from the date of delivery for eligible items. If more than 30 days have passed, we’re unable to process any returns, refunds, or exchanges.
To initiate a return or exchange, please contact our Client Care team at service@klinecollective.com with the subject line “Return” or “Exchange.” Kindly include:
- Your full name
- Order number
- Reason for return or exchange
Once your request is reviewed and approved, we will share return instructions and the appropriate shipping address. Items must be returned in their original, unopened packaging and in resellable condition.
Damaged Items
If your artwork arrives damaged, you must notify us within 24 hours of delivery, providing clear photo or video evidence of the issue. This documentation is essential to process a replacement or refund. If this window is missed, we regret that we may be unable to assist with compensation or replacements.
Return Shipping & Fees
All returns may need to be sent directly to the artist’s studio or one of our international ateliers, depending on the origin of your artwork.
Unless otherwise stated:
- Return shipping is not complimentary.
- Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, including any VAT, customs duties, or related surcharges incurred.
- The item remains the customer’s responsibility until safely received by us.
To ensure the safe and secure return of your artwork, we require all returns to be sent via a tracked and insured shipping service. This measure safeguards your valued pieces and allows for full traceability throughout transit. Returns without valid tracking and insurance cannot be accepted.
For returned items (excluding cases of damage or error on our part), a 30% restocking fee will also apply. Original shipping fees, applicable surcharges, and sales taxes/duties are non-refundable, except where an item is proven to be faulty or shipped in error.
Returns Not Accepted In These Cases:
- You do not respond to the artwork preview email within 48 hours
- Items are marked as non-returnable (see below)
- Custom orders or orders that underwent a redo
- Orders that were rejected or delayed due to inaccurate shipping details, customs refusal, or recipient non-acceptance
Non-Returnable & Non-Refundable Items
The following items or fees are non-refundable:
- Gift cards
- Clearance, sale, or promotional items
- Custom or personalized orders
- Orders placed using discount codes
- Orders with “Priority Finishing”
- Items explicitly marked “Non-Returnable”
- Orders involving a redo after preview
- Orders where the customer did not respond to the preview email within 48 hours
- Surcharges or additional service fees
- Payment processor fees
Custom Orders
Custom orders are commissioned works created according to your specifications, including size, color palette, composition, or reference images. Before production begins, we provide a digital mockup for visual guidance.
Please note:
- Our standard service includes up to 3 rounds of revisions on the digital draft before production begins. Additional revision requests may incur extra charges.
- Customers are expected to provide a clear and detailed brief to help ensure the final artwork aligns with their vision.
- The final hand-painted artwork may vary slightly from the digital mockup - this is not considered a defect but a hallmark of authentic, handmade art.
- Custom pieces are non-refundable and non-returnable, including for minor differences from the approved preview.
Surcharges & Special Requests
Occasionally, additional charges may apply to accommodate:
- Use of special or luxury materials
- Specific paint details or special surface treatments
- Framing modifications
- White-glove delivery
- Specific product changes after ordering
- Additional production services
All such surcharges are non-refundable and will always be communicated clearly in advance. We reserve the right to apply additional administrative fees, with a minimum charge of $300, in situations where significant time or resources are required due to atypical customer requests or circumstances outside our standard policies, terms, or procedures.
How Are Refunds Processed?
Upon receipt and thorough inspection of the returned item, we will communicate our decision regarding your refund. Please note that returns will only be accepted if the item is in its original, unused condition and packaging. Returns that are damaged, used, altered, or not in their original condition will unfortunately not be eligible for refund or exchange.
If approved:
- A refund will be issued to your original method of payment, or
- You may choose to receive store credit, where applicable.
Approved refunds will exclude original shipping fees, taxes, duties, restocking fees and any surcharges.
How to Change or Cancel an Order?
You can change or cancel your order within 24 hours of placing it, provided production has not yet started. If you cancel within this period and production hasn't started, we will issue a full refund, minus payment processor fees.
If production has started or the 24-hour cancellation window has passed, we cannot change or cancel your order.
If a cancellation is necessary after production has started, a full refund is subject to approval. If approved, we will issue a refund, minus payment processor fees and a non-refundable 20% administrative fee to cover materials and the artist’s time and effort.
As each frame is custom-made, minor changes to gallery wrap or framed artworks can be requested within 24 hours of order confirmation. These include switching between full bleed and no bleed or changing the frame color.
Changes to the frame color are free of charge, provided the artwork has not yet been framed or shipped, and the requested color is in stock.
Changes in size or selected artwork designs are possible before production begins and may incur an additional charge. Once production has started, any changes to size or artwork are treated as a return, and a new order must be placed.
Requests made after the 24-hour window may also result in additional charges and extended production times.
Artwork Previews
Once your artwork is complete, we will send you a preview email with high-resolution photos and/or a video of the piece, including its hanging orientation. You will have 48 hours to respond with any requests or feedback.
If we do not receive a response within the 48-hour window, we will proceed with production and shipping to avoid unnecessary delays.
For custom orders, a digital draft will first be prepared based on your specifications and confirmed with you before production begins. For non-custom orders, the approved reference is the product photo displayed on our website.
Revision Policy
We value your feedback and will do our best to accommodate reasonable requests. However, please note the following:
- We can provide up to 3 rounds of minor changes (such as color or texture adjustments) at no extra cost.
- All revision requests must be clear, specific, and actionable.
- Vague feedback (e.g., “make it better”) may delay the process.
- Some revisions may require consultation with the artist, and not all requests can be accommodated.
- Once production has started, we cannot make changes beyond what was approved in the original draft or reference image.
- Requests to change the concept, modify the approved design or original composition, commission another artist, or completely redo the piece may be declined or may incur additional costs, beginning at $300.
- A complete redo, if approved, is permitted only once per order and is considered final.
- Minor variations are inherent to the hand-painted nature of our artworks. We strive to deliver a result as true as possible to the original concept, but no two pieces will ever be identical.
- Colors may also appear differently depending on monitor settings or devices (e.g., smartphone vs. computer). We can provide additional photos or close-up images to help verify colors before shipment.
- After the preview is approved, or if no response is received within 48 hours, the artwork will move on to the next steps (stretching, framing, and shipping), and no further revisions or changes can be made.
For specific requests regarding gallery wrap, frame finishes, material preferences, paint details, or special surface treatments, please inform us before or during production, or during the preview process - not after shipment. Orders cannot be cancelled, returned, or refunded for preferences that were not communicated before production or during the preview stage.
Revisions take time, skill, and careful coordination between the artist and our team. We kindly ask that all customers approach this process with patience and respect.
Artistic Integrity Notice
Every Kline Collective piece is hand-painted by skilled artists, ensuring uniqueness in texture, brushwork, and tone. Slight variations from previews or digital references are expected and celebrated - they embody the soul of handmade artistry.
These natural variations do not constitute defects and are not valid grounds for return or refund.
Gift Cards, Store Credits & Rewards
- Gift cards, credits, and loyalty rewards are non-refundable
- Credits can be applied to future purchases but cannot be exchanged for cash
Preferred Client Privileges
An elevated experience for our most valued collectors.
Clients whose lifetime cumulative purchases exceed $5,000 USD are cordially welcomed into our Preferred Client Circle - a private tier reserved exclusively for the discerning few whose loyalty and aesthetic sensibilities truly set them apart.
As a member of this select group, you may be extended the following privileges:
- Priority handling of all future orders, no exceptions
- Concierge-level support with a dedicated specialist, attuned to your preferences
- White-glove delivery and installation, where such excellence is available
- Access to rare materials and exclusive finishes not offered to the general clientele
- Bespoke payment arrangements, subject to internal approval
- Private previews of limited releases and first access to new collections
A separate Preferred Client Service Agreement may be extended to outline the privileges bespoke to your profile. One of our senior client specialists will be in contact when your status is conferred.
Please note: In the realm of bespoke commissions, exceptional service requires time, energy, and the dedicated craftsmanship of our artists - resources that are truly precious. While we deeply value all our clients, the highest level of personalised attention is reserved for those whose patronage exemplifies true distinction. Admission to the Preferred Client Circle is strictly by invitation only and granted at our sole discretion, with each case carefully evaluated. Requests for preferential treatment from clients outside this exclusive tier will not be entertained and will be managed in accordance with our standard Return & Refund Policy.
